Re: Estate Update

This weekend has been spent balustrading ... I bought a couple of dolls-house scale wooden balustrades from t'Bay ... https://i.imgur.com/QhBh9Ay.jpg ... much too big and bulky for what I wanted, but I cut out the uprights, shortened them slightly, made a base plate and a top rail from Woodlands Sce...

Re: Estate Update

Progress continues at a slow pace ... https://i.imgur.com/b2EQPyx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/sVgmaUE.jpg Track has been laid on the turning part of the Rotaverser, and seems to match up quite well with the scenic part of things. A little fine-tuning of rail levels is required to (hopefully) get a smoot...

Re: Estate Update

A little more progress to report - on the Rotaverser ... https://i.imgur.com/wZKl4z5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bcrz4yD.jpg I got a leadscrew on Amazon and fixed it to the base to control the movement of the traverser part of the Rotaverser. Re: Estate Update

While I was away doing other things I applied what's left of my mind to projected operation of the diorama/photo plank/mini layout. At first I thought that a simple traverser, to move between the two exit tracks, and to store off-scene trains, would fit the bill. But that would mean that there would...

Things are moving slowly onwards ... https://i.imgur.com/W8xMmeB.jpg ... the back-board has been painted and fixed to the baseboard, the back-board inside the loco shed has been painted black, the sides of the rails have been painted brown, and 'the control panel' has been fabricated ... The shed is back from the paint shop ... https://i.imgur.com/MTfvKuq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/AddmgJq.jpg It didn't turn out too badly - not quite as dark green as I hoped but it'll do. Re: Estate Update

Sorry about that, Paul! I guess that the story has been quite common for titles and estates, especially since WW2. Many thanks for your comments chaps, I hadn't thought a piccy of two bits of insulation and a bit or hardboard would attract much comment! Estate Update

Having built 'Lady Frideswide' and 'Sir Macintosh', and found that neither will run on my Berger Hall layout because of the 6" curves, I've been giving some desultry consideration to building a 'display diorama' to stand them on, and maybe even photograph them. The idea developed a little into ...
