I like the bogie wagon. Not thought of doing that. Good idea. Perhaps Steve B will come up with something! Chopping a couple of his wagons and mounting onto a new plasticard base could be a possibility.
What radii does this go round?
In my experience with my son when 'playing' with trains, 'scale' does not seem to matter and quite happy to mix various toys of different sizes to suit the play mode at the time. As time goes on, i.e. when he has grown up (now 12) a better sense of scale starts to form. The important thing is that t...
A great start I like the size of the buildings and the sloping bank. It does lend itself to being viewed from all sides.
Looking forward to seeing this progress.
Very nice work. Full of details and everything blends in well. Like the grass growing around the track and timber supports.
Thanks for sharing with us.
I thought that you might want to see the following taken at Expong 2005 and from what I can remember is 0n14 and built by someone in France. Sorry can't remember anymore details. I have a few more photos and can post if useful. http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss213/mudmagnet202/misc%20railway/fre...
Thanks for posting the overall view. Looks nicely balanced. I wouldn't be too concerned that the layout looks smaller. The placement of the buildings draws your eyes into the scene. Works for me!
Everything has blended in very well. The 'egg-box' blocks look great. Watching with great interest and looking forward to seeing an overall view and further progress.
I've just followed this thread from the thread on the chequer plate and hve not seen this thread before found it very inspirational. I particular like the rust method and the colour and weathering on the loco.
Reminds me of the technique used by Lane Stewart, who presented several articles in Narrow Guage and Shortline Gazzette up to a year or so ago. However, he used a series of 3 or 4 angle-poise lamps with different rated bulbs.
Your method is much simplier and cheaper.
I will post more on this if anyone is interested later in the week. John, you have sparked my interest with the boards alone - can't wait to see how this progresses :D Using the 'L' girder and elevated track will make for some great scenic development. The board size should make it relatively strai...
John,
This is the first time that I have seen this model and have enjoyed looking through the thread from the beginning. Great atmosphere.
Where did the croc come from?
What a fantastic layout! What more can be said! Great atmosphere and wonderfull modelling. Extremely impressive.
Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
I had added some photos (as below), with some of the stock staged to show how the layout was presented at the exhibition yesterday. http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss213/mudmagnet202/layout015.jpg http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss213/mudmagnet202/layout016.jpg http://i577.photobucket.com/albu...
Had a good day at the shopw today, but battery ran out in my camera so couldn't take any photos. I will take some tomorrow (Sunday) had get posted. My son had great fun 'playing' trains for most of the day, putting all of the wagons on at one time occasionally - not leaving much room for anything el...
No further updates on the layout unfortunately, but on show tomorrow and will post some photos on sunday. If you are in Barnstaple tomorrow, call in and introduce yourself.
