Thanks Chris. It took me. A while to find the downloadable textures on the internet. But it definitely looks the part.

The Micro Model Railroad podcast returns

The Micro Model Railroad podcast returns after an 8 year hiatus. We thought it would be a good idea to share some ideas and enthusiasm for Micro Layouts to make people forget this lockdown world for a while. Who knows? It may inspire you to get on and build a small lockdown project. https://ia600608...

Superb.
I have to agree with MickT though. You can’t come all this way and not produce a model of Muriel

Re: The Cuddle Shale Oil Company Tramway.

Just wonderful Chris. That really brought back the memories of the early days, yet it’s also like discovering something for the first time. Hopefully my vision can remain true to Andy’s concept but have its own identity. As an aside, Clavell’s tower as mentioned on that page of the site. Did not fal...

Re: The Cuddle Shale Oil Company Tramway.

I’m enjoying seeing this take shape. I always liked the conceit of the left end of Andy’s plan - a boat on such a small layout, hidden by a bit of a hill and a bridge as well. I like layouts with hidden parts, and this has two others. Though sometimes nice ideas don’t translate well into reality. T...

Re: The Cuddle Shale Oil Company Tramway.

I have been mocking up the layout to see if it works

The smaller building (boiler house) needs to be shorter than the main building. Other than that everything seems to be headed in the right direction.

Re: Who remembers “A Tramway to Cuddle”?

That’s all I found Chris. If I recall correctly, Andy had a website for his own work too. Sadly, that’s gone too. I can’t pull anything up on the internet way back machine. But that could be down to operator error.

Re: New Heywood books coming

I bought myself the book for Christmas. It’s outstanding. A hefty tome in every sense of the world. I’ve been a bit of a student of the works of Sir Arthur in my times and even I wasn’t prepared for the wealth of information in volume 1. It made me pull out my old Scratchbuilt Heywood and relive old...

Who remembers “A Tramway to Cuddle”?

All: Who remembers the late Andy Anderson’s shale oil layout concept? It goes way back to the earliest days of Gn15. Did Andy ever build the layout? He built a concept model. But I don’t think he built it. I don’t think he ever finished a layout. That was Andy, brimming full of ideas. I was mulling ...

Ian, Si Harris (aka Model Earth Design http://modelearth.net) has kindly just pinged me a note to say that this beastie, see link below, could well do the trick - but the challenge may be to find one in stock. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Revell+1+24+BMW+3/15&ie=...
