Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

Hi David, many thanks for your kind remarks. They have got 2015 off to a very good start for me. :D

I have enjoyed exhibiting the layout over the years, and although very small it has provided much
fun and enjoyment.

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

An assortment of pictures of the Fordson railtruck working in the yard on different occasions. With its three forward speeds and one reverse gear it would be of limited use really. In our model world though we don't have to worry about practicalities like that. The driver is an ex Germam tank crew m...

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

Thanks Mick, I may be doing the Northampton show, I have volunteered it depends how desperate they are.

I must admit a decent camera adds a new dimension to modelling, as you well know!

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

A further selection of photos taken while checking the layout over prior to an exhibition. They were taken in our conservatory which is ideal as it gives a bright all round light. With a small layout like this now that I have a decent camera taking pictures adds another dimension to modelling. https...

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

The quad has always been popular with the public at exhibitions and it's a bit of a favourite of mine too. So one morning last week I set the layout up and had an operating session. Now I have a decent camera taking pictures has become an enjoyable part of the session. https://farm1.staticflickr.com...

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

Thanks Chris, the locomotive is a modified On30 Bachmann Porter. Which I have tried to make look a bit more British. I took a couple of pictures this morning of it at work in the yard. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/923/26712131157_63f16477c2_z.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/917/27710596158_4219...

That looks pretty good to me Ken. :)

Would that be a Blomberg truck at the back by any chance?

Many thanks Ken I appreciate your kind words.

As for tractors, well in my mind no layout is complete without one or two. :)

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

Thanks Tom,
I had lots of trouble with image shack so I want nothing to do with them, the problem being loging on.

The site I now use is much better and easier to use.

Re: Two Sister's Farm Saga

Most of the photographs I posted on this thread originally no longer work, and as we have a new site I thought I would try to fill in the gaps. Therefore I am trying to replace as many pictures as I can. Unfortunately a computer crash a couple of years ago meant I lost some of the original photograp...

Jon, With regard to a fifth wheel trailer coupling. I worked at Scammell Lorries when I first left school in 1960 and their own trailer coupling is the more likely for a small lorry. In the 1960's nearly all artics had a Scammell coupling and trailer. Only the heavier tractor units like Foden, ERF, ...

Paul,

There are quite a few Milwaukee Hogs in the UK. They are not that common but not rare either. So I think you are ok with the HD dealership.

The scene with the Bedford lorry looks superb. 8)
