Yes, I agree, re makes don't really hack it, just look at Dukes of Hazard, The Thirty Nine Steps, & The A Team. They just aren't the same with different actors.

Reckon it's close enough for some - (24mm = 1") - usually it's 25mm to 1".

I believe 'height in mm' comes from military modelling, & is quite a good way of describing the size of a figure, however not all people are the same height, so nor should figures be, & that is where 'scale' does matter.

The only NG in N gauge I know of was using converted Z scale (6.5mm) track & rolling stock. Nothing commercially available as far as I know.

Those locos look like they run on Hornby 0-4-0 chassis, if that is the case, do they still leap into action & race along the rails? They are both on Hornby Smokey Joes, Chinese manufacture and they are pretty good at low speed. The one under the green loco runs a bit more smoothly than the othe...
