Thanks Chris, I'm going with "Waterfowl" as they are a bit indistinct!

The layout is now packed up ready to head to Glasgow on Thursday. All the important things, layout boards, box of electrics, layout curtains, layout supports, stock box and, most importantly, a comfy seat to sit on.

If anyone is at the SEC over the weekend, the layout is stand B48 - please come and introduce yourself 8)

Hope you have a great show Andy and that it all behaves itself.. :)

Just for a giggle I checked on gurgle maps to see how far it was - I won't be 'popping' along to the show this year - not at nearly 700 miles round trip... :(

I really enjoyed meeting you and Crundells Estate in Glasgow on Saturday morning. I hope you don’t mind me posting some of the pictures I took. Thank you for all the hints, tips and techniques you passed on, particularly with regard to the plants and flowers on the estate. Following your advice, both the Green Scenes and Gaugemaster stands relieved me of some cash in exchange for scenic materials!

The next photo shows a fabulous little bit of detail. Outside the workshop is a patch of mud. The mechanic has walked in this mud on the way in to the workshop and his muddy footprints have been left on the concrete.

When you have a chance, I’d love to see some more pictures of all your rolling stock.

Thanks, it was nice to put a face to the name.

Weekend was very busy, was close to losing my voice by Sunday night as I'd spent 3 days talking while running the layout . A lot of people stopped to watch and ask questions - often wives spotting it and dragging husbands over to look. The phrases heard most often were "nice", very different" and "unusual".

No major issues with the layout - some coupling problems and the locos kept stopping on the insulfrog points in the fiddle yard. Main issue was between chair and controller - I operated the layout for almost the entire weekend, some 23 1/2 hours with trains going round in circles and the brain wasnt fully functional at times.

Most of my stock can be seen in this thread, the MacFeegles Distillery Thread ( and the Workshop No 3 Thread (

I did a couple of threads on the loco builds :
Red Ant -
Green "Simplex" -

Well done after a successful weekend. I know how you feel after a solo weekend effort. Take a day off then back into modelling :P
