Hi Paul, it is great to see how much great modelwork you have managed to put into your card challenge layout. I really like the lush mass of plantings. We often leave the plantings as an afterthought and plonk a few trees here and there to add "atmosphere". You have been showing us with your layouts just how much potential there is in adding carefully considered foilage and what a difference it makes. Steve Bennett's picture collage points that out very well. It is great to catch up on some of the layouts finally. Just makes me eager to get back at it. "Oh yes dear I'll be putting up the drywall soon" "I'm just checking my e-mail"

Fabrice,

'How to do' article for the trees was published in Issue 8 Autumn 2007 of The Gn15 Tome. Sorry I've lost track where they are online. The link on Gn15 Info website is out of date. I can email you a PDF of the issue.

Don't you just love pizza layouts :D

Image

We have a model railway exhibition next weekend so time to sort out the layout which has been sitting untouched in the garage all year.

* lift of plastic sheet it has been covered with and shake off loose scenic foam

* run lead pencil around the tracks

* untangle transformer and sound system and plug in

Image

* turn voltage up to 12 volts

Image

* place loco on track and give it an occassional push. After three circuits its running sweetly. Turn voltage back to 8 volts. Test sound system.

* glue hut lean-too roof back into place

* glue cab roof back on loco. Touch up the paint where it has been scratched

Ready to go. Time elapsed 60 minutes :) :)

The tree tops have received a sprice up with a spray of green paint.

and Gerry the Cocky is in place observing the layout for possibly its last exhibition as I'm considering putting a 'for sale' sign up to see if there is any interest. Have no fear Gerry is NOT included in the sale :!:

So is it going to be another item that Gavin smuggles into his garage under the pretext that he is just 'storing' it for you?

8) 'Come and see what I've bought you'.... she approves :!: Mind you, that's cost me a trip to America, and a lounge refurbishment.

8) The 'new' management have decided to retain the Silver Pine Tramway name. The only change made, is the installation of Haywards standard power supply.

Question. How long will a Bachmann Cable Car motor bogie last on a NZ bush tramway ?

Answer. 12 years.

Yep, DCR's tramway jigger finally quit today while
'testing' it for next weekend's show. With some foresight, I bought a Bachmann Cable Car when in San Francisco in 2009.
Running sweet now.

Oh no :( RIP. I've been stuck in bed for five days with seasonal cough and cold so probably feel a bit like the expired motor bogie. But hey only 12 years of running, what is Bachmann doing these days :P

Providing the ills disappear I'm still planning in coming over to help this weekend.

Silverpine Tramway, Pizza 'n' Beer, and Ginglenook. Asked for two tables. Bit awkward taking the stool and round table base, so I'm leaving those behind. I have asked for 5 tables at Rail-Ex (and will probably get them).
