Today Gromit logged into his Dogbook account and was made aware of a potential disaster awaiting the Cobblers.
Apparently the Euro Crisis has led to the Organic Rivet Market collapsing coupled with a surge in the number of Rivet Flies.
A swarm of these has been moving into Northern France affecting the Couillonades (French equivalent of Cobblers).
These flies are huge, Juergen has already sent me a photo of one.
The chances of them reaching the shores of the UK are quite high.
Apparently several have been seen on the outskirts of Calais, no doubt awaiting the chance to stow away upon a lorry bound for the UK.
Why the bother, well these flies can fly upto a metre above the ground so that Wallace must build the Cobblers walls that bit higher to keep them out.
Yesterday Wallace had a stoke of luck. The local Ramblers have been complaining that many of their members (no doubt long in tooth) were unable to climb the ladder stiles used to cross dry stone walls. A local farmer has replaced several with swing gate stiles so Wallace jumped at the chance to acquire one of the Ladder Stiles.
Its size makes it suitable to use with the new higher wall.
