All,

In case you haven't heard about it via another route, a noted member of the minimal gauge community, Colin Edmondson, is a finalist in the "Shed of the Year" competition (note to international readers - a British idiosyncrasy - bear with me and read on) with his "Micro Shed", a mobile 7 1/4" gauge shed.

You can do your bit and help Colin win by going to http://www.readersheds.co.uk, select category "unique", select the Micro Shed and click on the "Vote" button.

Voting closes in just over a week on 29th May.

All the best,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting that, I'd completely forgotten to add it in here

On a separate subject there's been a PM sitting waiting for you these last few weeks!

cheers,

Voted. Colin's Shed features on Page 45 of today's issue of "i" newspaper.

"Sorry, this computer IP address has voted for this shed already2

actually not, seems like something amiss with that site, apart from the overload of adverts

I noticed TV program in listings, but thought it wasn't going to include Colin's shed as it said 'normal sheds'

The blurb on TV listings was a bit misleading for first show, suggesting Colin was on this week, unless they muddled the shed filled with trains. Some interesting designs, and I think public vote goes for most unusual. The preview of next week suggests some other wacky ideas, but fingers crossed.

So Colin won, the power of the Railway Fraternity triumphed. I should add that he won the Unique Shed Category Gnot the overall Shed of the Year, that's down to the C4 judges.

A great result there for Colin.

I like to think that the modelling/engineering fraternity played a part as, by posting about his entry in a variety of forums (fora for those who enjoy their pedandtry) and Facebook groups etc. it probably helped get the votes in no end.

So, who's going to be the first to model it in G9?

Cheers,

I saw most of the program but missed the start and so missed the mini shed part. A bit puzzled about the category name as most of the sheds in the other categories could be described as original.. It would be interesting to know how many people voted for each shed, as voting online is a bit hit and miss. The publicity here and on other similar forums probably helped a lot. Despite the negatives some try and chuck at us, because we like trains, it does show that we can shout louder if necessary.
As for models I am sure I have seen a few models of mini sheds on rails here .
