No route found for "GET /viewtopic.php"

A general talking shop for any subject under the sun (even Monty Python). This would also be a good place to make suggestions about the site itself or about these forums (or "fora", if you're particularly pedantic).

ah, having created a new thread it seems to have unblocked the blockage and I can get in again now. How curious!

Simon,

I get this too - the answer is to log in if you're logged-out, and log out if you're logged in! You will have had to log in to make your post, which did the trick. I raised this some time ago, and it went away, but now it's back just the same as ever.

D'oh, it happened again.

But I tried logging out, as you say, and it seems to have gone away again. I was permanently logged in (as I keep forgetting my password).

it seems to be related to whether you use http://gn15.info/forum or http://forum.gn15.info/.

Loging on and off may change this.

I've not been able to find a cause for this, nor why the problem went away for a while . I have a new software version to install this week, will see if that changes anything.

I have both links bookmarked, from the start because of the initial problems. I still find that one link sometimes does not work but the other does. Odd thing is that if I then try the failed link again it then works fine.

Many thanks for the tip about the alternate URLs. I've changed to gn15.info/forum and the problem has gone away.

I have started to get this same message for a day or so. Trying the other link and it works OK, otherwise I would not be able to post this. It is lucky we have the two routes into the forum, as I suspect it is just one of those little things that crops up every so often.

Yes it's just I wish I could understand why it seems to work for some people part of the time and not for other people/times. If I could understand that I might be able to work out the route cause of this and do something about it.

Yours frustratedly Tom.....

this is first time I have had this particular problem. Other problems have gone away when I log in again, but this time it was yesterday, after which I have logged out and back in again.

Whatever the cause, the web site does not recognize me as a member when I open the forum. If I log out, then in, it seems to work fine. Webmaster, how about solving this aggravation for us? Gary

It's very hard to diagnose a problem when it's not reliably reproducible, like a car that will cut out sometimes, but restart 15 mins later and run for the next week. You can take it into the garage and they can check it over, but if there is nothing obvious wrong at the time all you can do is start replacing bits at random until the problem goes away.

This is rather time consuming and expensive.

Neither does anyone else seem to be suffering this problem - why just this forum?

Hello Tom,

I get the problem every time without fail. Feel free to look at how my account is set up for Gnatterbox if it might help solve the problem. :)

Roger the above! I get it too but can certainly survive logging out/in if that is what it takes.
