Yesterday Wood Bros found itself in the distinguished company of Ramma Woods, West Ghyll Adit, Blackhall Sidings, Buttermere Mining Co, Hook Basin, and Pyton Tramway Co, together with Black Dog Mining, Avalon Line and Minimum Gauge Models, in the Bouverie Hall, Pewsey. To complete the happy company, the servery was close at hand with copious cups of tea and chunks of lardy cake!

I haven't exhibited since the mid-1990s, and it was very pleasant to meet old friends and make new ones. Wood Bros performed quite well - I now know the length of time a SPUD will run before it gets red hot! - and seemed to please the public. A very pleasant day out - many thanks for inviting me, Christopher.

I enjoyed meeting you and your wonderful models - lovely details on all of them - also possibly the best large scale figures I have seen.

Look forward to the mine layout coming up next from you.

Hear hear to Bilco and Bandmill!

A very enjoyable day as it always is at Pewsey with a good balance throughout the event from the Nm layout right through to the 15" Baldwin loco parked outside that Allen Law had on a trailer that was in transit to Perrygrove!

Good to be re-acquainted with a genuine Wiltshire Lardy Cake again, and of course to meet many skilled MOMING modellers once again. Thanks for your line ups of locos for photoshoots to both Bill and Bill!

Photies please, for those of us who couldn't get. I had a prior engagement, long-standing family annual event, which I'd need a doctor's note to get out of.

Note to self:... Keep an eye on Mick's website over the next few weeks. There are bound to be some more cracker photos on their way sometime soon.

Here's one to be going on with as it is going to take a bit of time to fit in sorting out the photos taken last Saturday.

I will call this one "main impression of the day"

For the benefit of those who may not know what this is, it is a genuine very sticky and very sweet Wiltshire Lardy Cake

Of lesser importance, there were also a whole host of trains large and small (from Nm scale right through to a 15" loco in transit to Perrygrove parked outside on a trailer courtesy of Allen Law)

 Sorry but I fear everything the French say about British cooking could well be true.

Before posting such images please remember some of us are of delicate dispositions :P

Some photos have appeared: ... 033526763/

Many thanks for the kind comments, Bill - I gazed across the aisle at your layout for most of the day, so it was great to step across at a quiet moment and look at the other side!

Sorry for the slight delay!

I have just updated my blog site with a LARGE photo report of the 14th 009 Society Wiltshire Group Biennial Members Day and the 9th MOMING gathering held at Pewsey on 10 August.

Similar notice posted on NGRM-Online

Since being on the receiving end of some caustic and unnecessary remarks about my copyright notice on my site on here about a year ago (quote: "it leaves a bad taste in my mouth") I don't normally risk inciting more ignorant and rude bile by publicising my updates on the Gnatterbox any more, but as the show included the MOMING (Modelling the Minimum Gauge) one with lots of Gn15, 09 etc interest, I thought I would let the friendly people on here know about it, who are thankfully the great majority. Everyone except the person who made those comments (he knows who he is) is of course very welcome to visit!

Excellent photo coverage of the day Mick. I only found time for a couple of quick circuits of the hall, so it's very nice to be able to see the other layouts at leisure!
