Kit form Services Workshop detailing parts

Postby backwaterscotland » Fri May 06, 2016 10:06 am

Hi folks,
I received a parcel of bits from Kit Form Services this morning which I thought might be of interest. Service was excellent - I emailed Howard on wednesday night, had a reply and paid for the parts thursday morning and received a parcel containing said parts on friday.

I ordered 3 lots of parts for detailing a workshop. The first was TQ-164 "Workshop & Service Van Tools & Equipment" which has parts to build "spray gun, bench grinder, hand grinders, electric welder, compressor, pillar drill, commercial socket sets & air guns" plus some hand tools. The kit is a mix of etchings, white metal and resin castings. The etchings are very clean and the resin castings will require very little clean up but there is quite a bit of flash on the white metal castings.

The other two sets I ordered were etches. PE-95 has a selection of tool boxes - short and long "barn" boxes, a cantilever box and a 3-drawer chest. The chest includes a resin lid. PE-97 is an etch of hand tools. They also do a set of spanners but I didn't order them.

I'll post some more photos once I've built and painted the kits but it might be a few months as I need to finish some other projects off first

Kit Form Services site can be found here : http://www.kitformservices.com - they specialise in 1/24th scale trucks, particularly military types and have quite a number of things that may be useful for Gn15.

It's been a while but I've built most of the toolboxes and workshop equipment. Toolboxes were fiddly but manageable, everything else went together with a little fettling. Photos show most of the items in their basic colours - nothing fancy, Matt black, landrover green, tank grey, silver and red.

They look fantastic - well worth the effort and patience you have out in!

Hi Folks,
I was on Kit Form Services website this morning and they are retiring at the end of February 2022 and they are not restocking items as they go out of stock. If you want bits from them, I would order ASAP.

I just had a look at their range which is much much wider than I realised. Pity conversion from UK pounds and postage to the other side of the world make them more expensive than I'm prepared to pay.
