Once again guy's........... many thanks for your continued enthusiasm for this project, it's particularly warming to know that you're being so wonderfully encouraging.
Anyhoo....................
A bit of an "end of chapter", in as much as Santo's and Stella's place is all buttoned up and can be presented for the first time as a single piece!
The only real component missing is the handrail to the restaurant steps, I figured this to be quite vulnerable and will fit it once it's all been planted upon it's base [path/road], and it will go in amongst all the all street furniture and groovy bits.
Now, I've done something a bit "strange"!! As can be seen I've incorporated a black'n'white shot as well as the standard pic'.......... this is usually something that I'll just do for my own amusement. But......... it's the way I check for the "Look".
As you're building it becomes so familiar that more often than not I lose objectivity! Having a quick peek in B/W not only gives the view a period feel [All my memories as a very young child are in black and white] it also allows one to view it through another pair of eyes so to speak.
You be the judge........................
And the B/W....................
And again.......................
And yet another.............
I've posted them a bit bigger so you can have a right good look at 'em! The build does read much easier in the flesh, and the mistakes don't feel quite so hard and jarring.
What about the B/W's?? - I'm reasonably pleased............. I hadn't knocked myself out with this project - just having a bit of fun on my own really, but I truly feel that if you scanned the pic's quickly - Well.........you could perhaps be forgiven for having to do a double take!!!! ?
I was certainly pleased enough to try and carry on, in fact truth be told I'm a little bit chuffed with how it's turned out - better than I really hoped actually.
This is when I thought about moving on to the main reason for Belle Lane ;- and we'll start with Miss Lemon's Cottage.......... So - All the best..........see you in the next thread?
Andi.
